Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 Z Mount - First Shots

Maybe it’s the season, maybe it’s just because I like black and white images, or maybe I am just bored. I don’t know the why, but I do know I am having a blast shooting this Z Mount, Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 I picked up used on Fred Miranda (Thanks Brady!). This is my second Voigtlander direct Z mount, chipped manual focus only lens. These newer version lenses Voigtlander Z mount lenses communicate with the nikon Z mount bodies so you get all the correct data and al the modern features of the camera, just in a manual focus lens. Admittedly, I am quite smitten with these lenses and the performance.

I’ve only had this lens for about a week, but I have been shooting it every chance I get. I have this mounted to a Nikon ZF camera body. Someday maybe I will write about shooting manual focus on the ZF, but until I do, I can tell you that the ZF is a manual focus dream with some really amazing features. I also like to treat this camera as a dedicated monochrome, especially with manual focus glass. Look below and you can see the differences in the two different ZF Monochrome settings.

Truthfully, I am bored on this cold, Saturday AM here in MN. I am waiting for it to warm up a bit before I head out and ride my bike today. While I am waiting, I just thought I’d share a few pictures from the past week.

Hope you all have been able to enjoy the giving thanks holiday.
