Gone Dark? Nope. Just Busy.

I met a good friend out for a happy hour margarita and tacos on Tuesday. One of the first things he asked me was this. “What’s going on? I figured since you’d gone dark something was up.” My answer? “Nope, just busy”. So I figured I’d take a moment to share a few fun things and updates on a few projects both new and old.

To be fair, given I have not posted since the first week of February, I can’t blame my good friend for thinking I had gone dark. Sheesh, where does the time go? In all honesty, things are pretty darn good. I am just really busy and at times really focused. So what have I been up too. Here are a few updates.

Salsa Fargo Rebuild

The rebuild of the Gen 1 Salsa Fargo continues

I am not quite done, but you can see the direction I went, and will continue to go down, with this rebuild. I am proud to say that I was part of the creation and development of this fantastic and versatile rig. I have a few little tweaks and component swaps left. Once complete, I will do a dedicated post with a full build spec and photo gallery of this special rig. I am also still working on the next update on the Salsa Fargo Chronicles - What do we name this thing? I hope to publish both soon.

Birkie Finish - IMHO the best finish line in sports.

While our winter wasn’t great, we luckily got snow at just the right time for the Birkie to be held on the actual Birkie course. We rented a beautiful cabin with friends. My wife skied the 30k and my daughter skied the full 50k! Proud of these two inspirational women in my life. My role for the weekend was simply the driver and photographer. Such a good time.

Remote Work

I also spent a full week in Colorado caring for my mom while my brother and sister in law were traveling. I drove so that I could bring my bike and my whole office set up. Sounds fun right? Well…The weather stunk and I only saw the mountains for about 2 hours. I did get to see an old friend and that was great. I also got to eat some good food. I capped off the trip with a crappy winter storm and drive home through Nebraska. Not recommended.

TheTumbleweed Titanium Stargazer - In process. I sure like how titanium bikes look in black & white photos!

I also have put in quite a bit of work on the new, Ti Stargazer. You can see the direction I am going here. When I am done, I’ll do a full build spec and photo gallery of this special bike. I plan to do some photos in both rough road/gravel set up as well as the full mountain, knobby tire version. I am so in love with this project and rig. More to come on this. Drop me a comment if you have questions as I love to talk about this bike.

Where did my fitness go?

Sadly, I have not been keeping my mental and physical fitness going as well as I would like. But you take what you can get.

Thanks for checking in and thanks to my friends that have checked in with me during this busy time. You are much appreciated and I am thankful.

Have a good one. Hope to be back soon with some fun bike pics and builds!
