The Meriwether KlunkPacker

Out on the Kokopelli with the Meriwether Cycles KlunkPacker

It’s time to revive my favorite bike from 2023, the Meriwether KlunkPacker. I got distracted by gravel goodness last year. This year, my riding is more about fun and rich experiences on my bike. The KlunkPacker just may be my most fun bike I own. IMHO there really isn’t much it can’t do and that’s just what I need for this year and the stage of life & cycling that I am in. It’s time for the rebuild.

An early rendition of the color scheme I wanted to go for this rig.

I have begun the process. While the components will be a bit more modern than my original 10speed set up I used when I originally built it, the bike will mostly be the same. However, I have a new take on the bar/stem that will also modify the fit and make the bike even more comfy! I also may get crafty to try to execute my original vision for frame bags.

The Klunker in action outside of Fruita, CO - What will it look like the next time I share?

But I hope to ride this bike soon. It’s basically a roller right now waiting on bars so I can install brake and shift cables. The only part I am waiting for is the new handlebar. Finger’s crossed the titanium wonder bar I ordered doesn’t take too long! I am also finally re setting up my cutting table and sewing equipment this weekend. Can’t wait to get this rig out and about!
